We’ve gotten off to a super start here in sixth class and we’re loving being back at school.
We really enjoyed learning all about Nigeria recently and creating some wonderful travel brochures all about the country!
We learned all about the Industrial Revolution in History recently. We used the tablets to do further research and find out about other modern inventions too!
We have been making wonderful use of our new playground! It is so much fun and finished to perfection!
Here we are having a very important zoom call with the very famous David Walliams! It was interesting and we heard all about his inspiration for his novels!

We have been studying the life and art of Frida Kahlo, Picasso and Andy Warhol. We created pieces of art based on their well-known masterpieces.
We enjoyed eating pancakes for Pancake Tuesday! Nutella proved a popular topping!
We recently studied the human body and the role of the each of the organs of the body. They then sketched the organs into their correct position. Future doctors!
We took part in maths trails where we had to measure distances around the school using various instruments like trundle wheels, metre sticks, rulers and measuring tape. They we had to calculate perimeter and area.
We recently were visited by members of An Garda Siochana who spoke to us about cyber bullying and staying safe online. We really enjoyed the talk and got to ask lots of questions at the end!
World Book Week
We are really enjoying World Book Week Activities. We created a door design based on our wonderful novel ‘The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas’. It is a brilliant read and we highly recommend it.
We took part in a Drama workshop. We really enjoyed it and got to work as part of teams throughout the activities.
On Friday the 10th June, we departed school at 9.00 a.m to venture to Tayto Park on our school tour. We were very excited and we got to experience Viking Voyage, Cú Chulainn and the Dino Dash to name a few. Then we went on a guided tour of the Zoo area in Tatyo park and learned some interesting facts about the animals.

We had a wonderful Sports Day, amid the weather conditions. We took part in soccer matches, races, no man’s land, tug of war and an obstacle course.
