A busy year is in store for 6th Class. We are very much looking forward to our final year in St. Clare’s. Here is a sample of the work we have completed so far. From a visit to the art exhibition in our local museum to a class debate on the Future of the Irish Language, we have certainly not been idle! We are off to a flying start…just like our Hot Air Balloons
We examined Micrography and created some wonderful self portraits.
We have been studying the Rivers, Mountains, Bays and Lakes of Ireland. Did you know that Cavan has 365 lakes?

Sixth class really enjoyed the visit from a marine biologist! It was very interesting and we learned a lot about sea life.
6th class were learning about all of the countries in Europe in SESE. We then created some wonderful, informative projects on the countries and presented them to our class! Check them out!
Style in 6th class! This year 6th class have been very busy creating and customizing our own Christmas jumpers! Pennys, Tesco and Dunnes Stores better watch out…their rivals are in town!
6th class are ELECTRIC! We have been covering the science topic of electricity and we investigated how to make a circuit! It was an enLIGHTening experience!
6th class have got the rhythm! 6th class worked on making some musical pieces using our school instruments. We were working on tempo, duration, pitch and texture! We are quite the musical bunch!
Incredible Edible Programme
We have been busy planting vegetables as part of the incredible edible programme!
Boy in the Striped Pyjamas
We recently picked our favourite scene from our class novel ‘The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas’. Using this scene as inspiration, we created a diorama using shoeboxes, lollipop sticks, paint and materials from home.
Green fingers in Sixth Class! From spinach to beetroot, lettuce to potatoes, you name it.. we grow it! Sixth class have been working very hard to care for our fruit and veg. We collected the grow-it-yourself Lidl pots as well as receiving growing kits from Incredible Edibles and have been very successful. We have spinach, lettuce, radish, beetroot, peas, potatoes, lambs lettuce, strawberries, carrots, mixed lettuce, chives and turnips!
